Central heating leak detection
Repeated boiler pressure loss deserves a clear diagnosis. We investigate concealed heating pipework and help distinguish it from other causes of falling pressure.
Discuss this problemPressure loss is a symptom
A heating system may lose pressure through a visible radiator fitting, concealed pipework or a component associated with the boiler. The pattern matters: record how quickly the pressure falls and whether that changes when the heating runs. Repeated refilling is not a lasting repair.
Separate the possible causes
Available isolation points and the layout of the system determine which sections can be checked. Testing helps establish whether attention should focus on distribution pipework, a particular circuit or another component. Boiler appliance work may require the appropriate specialist and is not automatically included in a pipe-repair scope.
Work with the floor construction
Heating pipes can run through suspended floors, screed or boxed-in areas. Where useful, temperature patterns and other detection methods help plan access. A warm line alone is not proof of the failure location; it needs to be interpreted alongside the rest of the investigation.
A useful record to share
Provide the boiler make if known, typical cold pressure, the refill pattern and details of recent radiator or boiler work. Photographs of visible stains or fittings can help explain the sequence without disturbing the system.
